As the fifth season of Unforgotten draws to a dramatic close, ITV provides an update on the show’s future.

An announcement on the continuation of the show has been made following the conclusion of the fifth season of Unforgotten, which aired last night.

ITV has announced that they will be commissioning a sixth season of their popular police drama following the success of the most recent episode of the show in the series.

Unforgotten, which was initially shown in 2015 and has been a fan favourite ever since, was penned by Chris Lang, who has won multiple screenwriting awards. The most recent season, which concluded last night (April 3), was the first one in which DCI Cassie Stuart did not appear at any point (played Nicola Walker). Yet, it appears that fans were not deterred by the absence of the well-known character because the latest adventure is currently the most watched series on ITVX so far in 2018.

With Sanjeev Bhaskar (and his bag) making a comeback as DI Sunny Khan, and Sinéad Keenan’s DCI Jessie James taking over for Cassie, the first episode of the fifth series has become the most watched show on ITV so far in 2018.
The most recent season investigated the circumstances surrounding the passing of Precious Falade, including the potential roles played by her estranged mother Ebele (Martina Laird), son Jay (Rhys Yates), social worker Karol Wojski (Max Rinehart), and Conservative politician Tony Hume (Ian McElhinney).

We found out earlier that Hume is Ebele’s father, which means that he was Precious’s grandfather. The tense conclusion centred on the difficult character of Hume, who played a crucial role in the drama. Ebele reveals to Sunny and Jessie that he sexually assaulted her mother while she was employed as a cleaner at the business owned by Ebele’s father.

Tony had been giving Ebele money over the years, and in episode six, we find that he was called to the house where the killings took place because Precious’s son was in a drug-induced state and demanding money from Tony. Ebele had been receiving money from Tony over the years. You may recall that Joseph Bell’s body was discovered buried in a garden in the episode from the previous week, and that unregistered Jay had been using his identity ever since. Unfortunately, this wasn’t Jay; it was Jay’s half-brother, Joseph Bell.

According to Hume, what transpired on that tragic night was that Joseph pulled the gun, Precious tried to get a hold of it, and as a result, Joseph was accidently shot dead. She wound up shooting herself in the chest after realising that she had killed her son. Ebele came at the house just as Hume was taking Joseph out of the house to bury him. Ebele was so traumatised by the experience that she eventually stuffed her daughter’s body up the chimney.

On the other hand, Jay, who was present during the incident when he was a toddler, presented a contradictory account of the happenings. He then told Sunny and Jessie that Hume was choking Joseph, leading to Joseph pulling a revolver, which resulted in Precious being shot inadvertently. Joseph, who was inconsolable, handed the gun to Tony, who proceeded to shoot Joseph in the head.

After Hume’s arrest, it would appear that this matter is closed. On the other hand, in an unexpected turn of events, Jay reveals to Ebele that he has been lying all along and that the Lord was, in fact, telling the truth. He says that Hume ought to be punished for the rape of Ebele’s mother as well as everything else that has transpired with the family since then.

And with regard to the reason why Hume appears to accept this? Because, ultimately, he only has a very short time to live anyhow owing to a fatal condition, it is likely that the guilt he feels for all of the awful things that he has done is the driving force behind his decision to take his own life.
Although getting off to a chilly start, fans are hoping that Sunny and Jessie’s friendship will continue to blossom in the next sixth series of the show, which has already been confirmed to feature both characters. Chris Lang is going to be the one responsible for writing all of the new episodes.

It is expected that the “Harry Potter” relaunch series will air on HBO. Max

Since quite some time ago, the future of the Harry Potter franchise has been shrouded in mystery. This uncertainty has been maintained primarily by the immense popularity of the original books and films, as well as by tangential new initiatives such as spin-offs and video games. But, it appears like Warner Bros. is working to finalise the contract, which means that the Harry Potter revival that fans have been hoping for is finally becoming a real possibility.

David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros., announced his plan to capitalise on major franchises by expanding their scope the year before. He stated that we are going to place a significant emphasis on franchises. It’s been a whole decade since the last Superman movie came out. Since the last Harry Potter film was made, 15 years had passed. In the past 25 years, a significant portion of Warner Bros. Motion Pictures’ revenue came from the DC Extended Universe films as well as the Harry Potter film franchise. A concentration on the franchise, then, is one of the major benefits that we enjoy; House of the Dragon is an illustration of this, as are Game of Thrones, taking advantage of Sex and the City, and Lord of the Rings; we still have the right to produce Lord of the Rings films. Which films have established themselves as brands that are recognised and cherished in every region of the world?

Zaslav continued by saying, “When you have a franchise movie, you can sometimes make two to three times as much money as you make in the United States, because you get a place in the franchise.” And an emphasis on the big movies that are loved, that are tentpoles, that people are going to leave early from dinner to go watch — and we have a number of those — as well as the movies that are tentpoles. What are we going to do with Game of Thrones, Batman, Superman, and Aquaman? If we can work out a deal with J.K. Rowling to continue the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings franchises, what are we going to do with Game of Thrones? What are we planning to do with the majority of the significant franchises that we currently own? We are concentrating on business franchises.”

The claims that were published by Bloomberg suggest that the reboot series would most likely be moving to HBO Max, and that this new production will be directly based on the source material. It is believed that Warner Bros. are extremely near to finalising this big transaction, despite the fact that HBO Max has not yet spoken on the ongoing discussions over the development of the project.

ITV has announced the day that Phillip Schofield will come back to host This Morning.

Phillip Schofield has been away from This Morning throughout his brother Timothy’s trial, which concluded on Monday, April 3rd, with Timothy being convicted guilty of sexually abusing a teenage boy over a period of three years. The victim was a teenager.

The host did not appear on the midday show for the first time until the 27th of March. ITV has made it clear that Phillip will not be back on screen until after the Easter weekend.

On Monday, his older brother Timothy, who is now 54 years old, was charged with 11 counts of sexual misconduct with a child that allegedly occurred between October 2016 and October 2019.

After deliberating for more than five and a half hours, the jury at Exeter Crown Court found him guilty on all counts by a majority vote of 10-2.

Phillip expressed his satisfaction with the findings of guilty and went on to say, “As far as I’m concerned, I no longer have a brother.” You can read his complete message by clicking here.
While Phillip’s brother Timothy was in court last week, Willoughby was joined by substitutes Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett in his role as presenter on This Morning.

During the time that they are away for the Easter holiday, Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who regularly host the show on Fridays, will be in charge of presenting it instead.

Timothy, a civilian police worker from Bath, vehemently contested the claims while the case was being heard. He was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, three counts of causing a child to watch sexual activity, and three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Timothy admitted to the jury that he and the child had masturbated while sitting apart and that they had watched pornography together, but he argued that the youngster was older than 16 at the time. He also denied having any sexual contact with the adolescent.
In September of 2021, it is reported that Timothy told his TV star brother about some of the alleged wrongdoings that he had committed. Phillip provided the court with a written statement in which he stated that his brother had called him while he was in an anxious and angry state and that he had invited him to drive to his home in London. Phillip said that he had told the court that his brother had phoned him.
Phillip stated that they talked for a considerable amount of time, during which they also consumed a dinner at his house. Phillip remarked, “Tim was standing behind me as I was washing up, and he said, ‘You are going to hate me for what I am about to say,'” Tim added. “You are going to hate me for what I am about to say.” I stated that there was nothing he could say to me that would cause me to despise him. Then he went on to say that he and the boy had spent some time together, and that the previous year the two of them had “watched porn… and [masturbated]”.

I reacted by turning around and asking, “What did you just say?” He mentioned that it was the previous year and that we were together in private,” the author stated. “Tim said that it was only for this one time. I cautioned him that this must never take place again. After that, he began to inform me about [the boy’s] physical make-up.

“I yelled, ‘F***, stop.’ I yelled at Tim, telling him that he had to put an end to it. I had little interest in learning any of the specifics, but he made it appear as though it was an isolated incident. I told her, “Please stop telling me things. I don’t want to hear them.” I admonished her, telling her, “You have to stop, simply never do that again.” It doesn’t matter how it took place; whatever transpired can never take place again.

“Tim would insist that it was just “boy time,” but we knew otherwise. I responded by asking, “What the hell is boy time?”

Timothy has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing at Bristol Crown Court on 19 May.
